For those of you that haven’t heard about tomboy, it’s definitely worth checking out here. It’s been all over Planet GNOME where people are singing it’s praises, but there hasn’t been a Gentoo ebuild for it. So I wrote one.
It’s available for download here. I’m still working out the kinks (can’t figure out how to get the stupid icon to show up in the menu even though the .desktop file looks fine), but the application runs fine. Just download the ebuild, put it in your local overlay, and enjoy.
Edit:
I also have been recently messing around with cpufreqd and speedfreq to help save battery life (adds about 45-60 minutes of life when turned on, which is nice), and I found an applet that’s bundled with Ubuntu that’s really helpful in monitoring what the CPU is doing without having to use cat on strange proc locations.
An ebuild I made for it is available here.
Also note that both tomboy and the cpufreq applet are both fairly new (but stable), and my ebuilds may not be totally reliable. If they’re not, drop me a line and I’ll fix it.
