Why is there no reason we can’t change

Been awhile since an update.

I did a trip to Boston to visit the Lotus site and meet with possible bosses and coworkers. It was a fun trip. Boston’s an awesome city that has both the city flavor and the suburban sprawl. It’d definitely be a good time to live there. I even know people there. (Kudos Steve for picking me up from the airport and saving me the $83 bucks to Westford.) I’m not sure if I’m going to take the job or not. It’s pretty early to tell. I’d either be working on Lotus Workplace or Domino Access. Could be some interesting stuff there.

On the way back from Boston, my car died. Timing belt went, which means they’d have to take the engine out to fix it… suffice to say it’d be about $2000 to fix and not worth it. That makes it hard to get to interviews that I have already said I would attend.

COSI should be busy in the next few weeks. We’re going to start a weekly/biweekly/whatever segment we’re going to call Masterpiece Theater which will involve us going over cool code. Jeanna will be doing the first one to help me and Kyle understand what’s going on.

I also want to continue the workshops Bryan started about “personal development” (I still don’t have a good name for this). He did How to Kick Ass at Work using How to Be a Star at Work. I’m going to do Seven Habits of Kick Ass People using The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. It should be a good time.

On a side note, I love how Firefox lists a bunch of different search engines (including Amazon) in their search bar. Very convenient.

Oh, and if you’re looking for an easy to read book that does some cool stuff with philosophy, you should try The Consolations of Philosophy. It’s extremely easy to read, full of pictures, and has some really powerful practical applications of some good philosophy. We’re reading it in Philosophy Club here, and I think it’s going to give us some good things to talk about.
