Lots of randomness lately, which isn’t very typical. I’ve spent most of my time doing grad school applications. I finally got all my recommendations out (well, at least most of them), so now I can finish the statments of purpose that are left and submit them all. They’re too damn expensive.
I took the LSATs this past weekend (i.e. the Law SATs, erm, except it doesn’t stand for that, but it’s really the same thing). I was surprised — they weren’t that bad. It’s a logic test for the most part, which I enjoyed. Lots of “find the hole in this argument” questions. Which I guess is what the whole lawyering thing is about. Trial law, at least.
I only have 1 exam this week, so I feel like such a slacker with people studying all over the place around here. It’s kinda nice though — I haven’t been this “lazy” for awhile now. Given me time to procrastinate some and catch up on my video games.
My one gripe about the past few weeks is taxes. IBM (because they’re cool like that, I guess) gives employees money for getting patent applications. I can’t argue with it — not like I’m going to turn down money. The check’s supposed to be for $750. Yay for me (i.e. car?). Except when it comes in the mail, it’s only $460. Which makes me sad. 39% of the money went to federal and state taxes.
Random tidbit: If you get the chance, check out Christopher O’Riley. He has an album of piano renditions of Radiohead songs. The version of Fake Plastic Trees totally rocks. It’s on the iTunes Music Store (shameless plug) if you want it. Too bad the rest of Radiohead’s stuff isn’t there.
Oh, and I’m going to turn on comments now, due to “popular demand” (i.e. Sarah, mostly). I had them on my old livejournal, and some people miss being able to make fun of me here. Here’s hoping that comment spammers don’t destroy me.
